Our History

Epic Enterprise’s history began in 1976, when Laura Baker School (later renamed Laura Baker Services) opened EPIC Center. Adults living on the Laura Baker Services campus spent their days doing academics and working on functional living skills.

Expanding Opportunities

Nine years later, EPIC acquired a larger rented space, allowing the expansion of its services to include those living at home with family and those living in residential services through Laura Baker Services and other providers. EPIC began offering employment opportunities with local companies and organizations.

Growing for Good

In 1996, EPIC separated from Laura Baker Services to become a private, nonprofit corporation, called EPIC Enterprises. Then in 2011, EPIC changed its name to Epic Enterprise. Epic’s growth and desire to build for the future prompted the building and owning of a permanent home. After moving into our new building, services have continued to develop as we expand opportunities for people with disabilities. Epic is lead by a passionate and caring group of people, comprising our board of directors. Over the years, gracious donors, engaged volunteers, and caring advocates have continued to support our work.
