On June 12th, Epic Enterprise co-sponsored a lunch and learn workshop titled “Who is missing from your hiring pool”.
This event was also co-sponsored by Northfield Works and Laura Baker Services. The purpose of this luncheon was to educate employers, owners, HR professionals, and hiring managers from local businesses about benefits of hiring people with disabilities in Northfield community. A panel including Traci Quinnell, General Manager from Bon Appetit at St. Olaf, Samantha Hartmann, Owner/Manager of Culver’s, Kathy Olson, Executive Director at Millstream Commons and Jay Storlie, job coach with Epic Enterprise were present to share their personal experiences and answer questions pertaining to hiring or working with individuals with disabilities. Representatives from many local businesses were present which made the event a great success.
