Epic was represented at our state’s Capitol on March 10, 2015 for a rally. The day was structured around awareness of the needs of people with disabilities. There were opportunities to share support for the 5% increase towards home and community based services. The increase is being requested to be part of the state’s budgeting process in 2015. People with disabilities across the state depend upon services that provide basic daily care and help them to stay as independent as possible. These services keep people out of costly institutional settings that limit independence and choice.
There were also opportunities to meet with local representatives and advocate one on one. Pictured are Alex Fitzgerald, Beth Lieser, Jenn Turner, with Senator Kevin Dahle. Also in attendance that day were Michelle Sticken, Dot Sherrill, Andy Rothove.
